Positivity, genuine connection, and the belief that anyone can grow beyond where they started — that runs through everything we do, for individuals, schools and organisations alike. Edacity Limited is four connected businesses and an in-house publisher, each working towards it from a different angle.
People learn, lead and live better when there’s room for wellbeing — and a bit of joy — in the day. Each part of the group works on that for a different audience.
Books, toolkits and training for schools — easing workload, lifting wellbeing, and bringing enjoyment back to teaching and learning. Home of the Teacher’s Guide series.
Home of Integrative Levity Praxis (ILP), Barry’s Gelotology-based method. Courses, talks, training and workshops grounded in the science of laughter, humour and play for human flourishing.
Online, one-to-one or group coaching from a Personalised Care Institute-accredited Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, and Executive and Senior Leadership Coach.
Helping organisations identify what poor wellbeing actually costs. Insights, tools and strategies to transform the health of businesses and those that work within them.
Established in 2026, Edacity Press is our in-house publisher. It’s behind every book and resource produced by Edacity Ltd.
One publishing engine, shared across all four businesses, so each book can support the work it belongs to: credibility, a way in for new readers, and a route to the practical tools and strategies to support it.
Edacity Ltd is founded by Barry Taylor, a Cambridge-trained educator and teacher trainer who has worked with schools for over 30 years and is one of the UK’s fastest-progressing, HMI-assessed Advanced Skills Teachers and Lead Practitioners.
His journey is anything but ordinary. Barry left school with two GCSEs and spent seven months homeless at 19. In the space of just seven years, he had bootstrapped his way into university, achieved a first-class honours degree, and gained a place on a PGCE course at the University of Cambridge.
Barry’s experiences are central to his talks on resilience, transformation and the power of humour. They also strongly influence his businesses, which apply research-backed strategies to reframe personal and emotional challenge into growth and success, regardless of your starting point.
Beyond his work as an educator, Barry is a Personalised Care Institute-accredited Wellbeing Practitioner, a Leadership Coach, and a Gelotologist, researching the physical, mental, social and emotional effects of laughter, humour and play. He works with multiple NHS Trusts, national charities and multinational organisations, and is involved at parliamentary level in the campaign for comedy to be recognised as an art form and included as a viable social-prescribing route for managing a growing mental health crisis.
